Infusion Bottles
Infusion bottles can be made of Type I, or II glass as classified by USP660 or EP3.2.1 for its hydrolytic resistance for surface and grain tests. Type I glass is borosilicate glass with good chemical stability and resistance to thermal and mechanical shock. Infusion bottles for LVP (Large Volume Parenteral product) of standard IV,TPN, are often packed in Type II glass. Type II glass are inexpensive and conforms to USP/EP and ISO4802-2 for HC2. The glass bottles are available in clear color.
